Of course to do this, I’m going to need a little bit of help.  Here’s how you can help the crazy dreamer guy TRY to save the planet.

 

1. Pro bono legal stuff to do with copyright, intellectual property and NPO establishment.

2.  Sponsorship.  I’m doing this for free at the moment but there may be costs involved.  I suggest the following sposors are welcome to apply.

OTHER ASPECTS

This is a social media campaign so I want to use things like Youtube, Facebook, Twitter (although I’ve never used it), Linked In and even Kickstarter to get this thing off the ground.

I also have a Tshirt campaign and a Cap campaign that is very carefully thought through and will be made clear at a later date.

I also have plans for two versions of a book, one for Queensland and one for the rest of Australia with very minimal changes, but highly significant ones.  Two versions as it were.

 

WHERE’S ALL THE MONEY COMING FROM? IS THIS SOME GET RICH QUICK SCHEME?

NO. I WROTE THIS PAGE BECAUSE I WANTED TO REASSURE PEOPLE ABOUT MY INTENTIONS.

The answers to these questions are I’m doing this off my own back, just using my own time.  It hasn’t cost me anything and I don’t want to get rich quick.  I do, of course, aspire to a decent living.  No more and no less.  Financial side of this are pretty difficult for someone like me to work through because I don’t know much about money.  Ask anyone.  I am fundamentally a bit of a waster, when it comes to money and time, I guess.  I have always wanted to be able to say, you know what, I’d do this for free.  I am making a commitment to you as a fellow human being to be honest in all of my business dealings and to live at a very moderate income.  Always have, always will.  I believe the poor are favored by God.  You don’t have to.  I’m just saying that’s what I think.  I am doing this because my heart was ripped in two last year and I am trying to put myself back together, like Humpty Dumpty, I guess.

Eventually, I want the money for this project to go through a small Queensland  bank, for there to be complete trsansparancy and to be under the care and jurisdication of the State and Federal governments of Australia.

On this page I will include links to all scientific knowledge that is as easily understandable to ordinary people as possible.  I would like some help to choose the right links.  I would also like them to be as free from political bias a spossible as I am not a member of any political party myself : )

MESSAGES OF HOPE AND LOVE

We want to collect brief messages of hope and love from Queensland’s community leaders.  My website is designed for ALL of the people of Queensland.  This means we are looking for messages from all  major political parties, Liberal, Labor, Greens, Democrats, etc, Christian denominations, all Buddhist sects,  Hindus, Muslims, Jews, atheists, agnostics, skeptics etc, scientists, charities of different types. I want to reach as broad a cross section of society as possible. 

Messages should be simple things addressed to the people of North Queensland or the Great Barrier Reef like this one “Our prayers are with you, reef.”, “We need you to get better, reef”, “Where there is a problem there is a solution” “May the corral be well, may the corral be peaceful, may the corral be safe, May the corral be healthy.”  “We would like to see the Great Barrier Reef return to as much of its former self as possible”

I am also trying at the moment to build a similar website to aid families from Fukushima. For that project, I would like simple child like messages, such as “Australian people care about you” or even “My name is John. I am from the Gold Coast. I am … years old. I am good at soccer and I love Japanese. Good luck : )” That message would mean the world to Japanese kids, and put a sticker on it or draw a picture. As someone who has taught Japanese children, I know that would mean the world to them. I would like to involve schools here in Australia with that program, so if you know anyone who might be interested please let me know. I am also looking for some Japanese schools to help out. A lot of this remains quite conceptual. I have lots of ideas, but maybe you have better ones.

The main thing I am looking for here is a bit of help.

PHOTOS

We also want people to send in their photos of the Great Barrier Reef.  But there is already a wonderful site on Facebook called Great Barrier Reef.  I would like to go into partnership with them in some way.  But if you have any photos please let us know, maybe I know someone who can get your photography out into the World Wide Web.  The photos MUST have a date attached to them.  Photos taken after 2010 WILL NOT be accepted.  But that’s unfair.  Sorry, but I don’t want this natural wonder being trampled on in the interest of my website.  I support responsible eco-tourism.  But you are welcome to try elsewhere.  I’m just trying to make some ground rules.  My website will be successful if it increases VIRTUAL traffic, not traffic congestion in the real world.

INTERLUDE: HOW TO SUBMIT.

That’s great, Grant.  You’ve got lots of concepts but how do people actually submit this stuff.  (Scratches head).  Didn’t think of that.  Actually, I did.  For the moment the best I can do for you is to ask you to write them as comments.  I will moderate them as best as I am able.  I will choose ones I like and copy them to Microsoft Word and then keep extending the list.  At some point soon I might get myself yet another email account, to which you guys back home or wherever you are can submit.  It will just be for this project.  I also want a bit of help in terms of making this website as user friendly as possible.
